Stainless Steel 316LVM - Alloy Wire International 1

Stainless Steel 316LVM

Regarded as ‘Medical Grade’, Stainless Steel 316LVM is vacuum melted to achieve the extremely high levels of purity and ‘cleanliness’ required for surgical implants. It has excellent resistance in physiological environments, to general and intergranular corrosion, to pitting and crevice corrosion. These characteristics make it ideal for both medical application and high precision electronics. Stainless Steel 316LVM is also known as AISI 316LVM.

Stainless Steel 304 - Alloy Wire International 2

Stainless Steel 304

Stainless Steel 304 is the most widely used stainless steel, and like 302, it has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. This alloy can withstand attack in a range of corrosive media, and its durability makes it easy to sanitise, meaning it is ideal for kitchen and food applications. Stainless Steel 304 is also known as AISI 304.

Nickel® 200 - Alloy Wire International 3

Nickel® 200

Nickel® 200 is commercially pure and has good mechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance to alkalis i.e. Sodium hydroxide. It also has good electrical, thermal and magneto-strictive properties. The corrosion resistance of Nickel® 200 means it is suited to products in food handling, synthetic fibres, and caustic alkalis. Other applications include aerospace components, electrical and electronic parts, and chemical shipping drums. Nickel® 200 is also known as Phyweld 200.

MP35N - Alloy Wire International 4

MP35N

MP35N is an age hardenable Nickel-Cobalt base alloy that has a unique combination of properties – ultra high strength, toughness, ductility and outstanding corrosion resistance. MP35N resists corrosion in hydrogen sulphide, salt water and other chloride solutions. It also has excellent resistance to crevice and stress corrosion cracking in sea water and other hostile environments. The four alloy elements in MP35N are the basis for corrosion resistance in almost every Stainless Steel, Nickel and Cobalt-based alloy commonly used in the industry. The alloy resists corrosion in hydrogen sulphide, salt water and other Chloride solutions, as well as the mineral acids (Nitric, Hydrochloric and Sulphuric). MP35N is suitable where a high combination of strength, high modulus values and good corrosion resistance are required. Applications for this alloy also include medical devices and dental products.

Phynox† - Alloy Wire International 5

Phynox†

This Cobalt-Chromium-Nickel alloy gives a combination of high strength, ductility and good mechanical properties and is age hardenable. Phynox† also has excellent fatigue life, corrosion resistance in numerous environments and is non-magnetic. Phynox† often provides the ideal solution whenever high mechanical performance is required under severely corrosive service conditions. Its mechanical strength increases with cold rolling strain, while additional strengthening can be achieved by age hardening at 500°C. It is recommended to use Phynox† where a high resistance to corrosion and / or low relaxation at temperatures up to 380°C (715°F) are required. This alloy is used in medical devices, dental products, surgical implants and orthopedics. Phynox† is also known as Elgiloy, Conichrome and Alloy 3J21.

Haynes˘ 25 / L605 - Alloy Wire International 6

Haynes˘ 25 / L605

Haynes 25/L605 is a Cobalt-Nickel-Chromium-Tungsten alloy that combines good high temperature strength with good resistance to oxidising environments up to 980°C (1795°F) for long exposures. It also has excellent resistance to sulphidation, and responds extremely well to cold working. Known as the strongest of the formable Cobalt alloys, its widespread use has caused it to be investigated for use over a wide range of conditions, thus making it a well characterised material. Some of the industries Haynes 25/L605 is supplied to include aerospace, power generation, electronics, land-based turbines and medical. Haynes 25/L605 is also known as Udimet L605.
