Quality is at the forefront of what Alloy Wire International (AWI) brings to the industry – without it, we can’t deliver on our commitment to providing the highest industry standards.
As our range of alloy wires are used in many different sectors and applications, ranging from aerospace and automotive, to medical and nuclear and beyond, it is essential that we leave our customers more than satisfied with the reliability of our final product.
As part of our commitment to maintaining high quality, we have maintained multiple quality certifications. These are as follows:
Continuing to add to our list of accreditations shows that we keep up to date with the latest technologies and practices, so that we don’t fall behind in the marketplace. We are meeting and exceeding the standards expected of our customers, giving them assurances that we are committed to providing a premium service.
Our quality management system focuses on a culture of continuous improvement. We consistently evaluate our processes and identify areas for improvement, before implementing actions that will advance our processes. This helps us stay atop current industry trends and advancements, meaning we can provide better services for our customers.
Another major way that we at Alloy Wire International ensure that quality remains high is by undergoing a thorough testing stage. This makes sure that the final product is free of any defects or flaws before they are delivered to the customer.
With all shipments, we provide certification that contains full chemical analysis, and as required by customer request or individual specification requirements, mechanical test results.
All mechanical results are verified by testing on modern testing machines with the latest software. All machines are regularly serviced and calibrated to the latest UKAS standards. Customers are therefore reassured that AWI has taken all precautions to ensure that the product operates safely and performs to the expected standards.
All incoming material is visually inspected, and PMI (Positive Material Identification) tested before processing begins and throughout every stage of production to ensure full traceability. On top of that, all incoming orders are produced to the individual customer specification, and at times this may involve processing sample batches for testing prior to full production.
Before being confirmed for delivery, all our products go through a final inspection stage. This involves the following:
Our examination facilities allow visual inspection up to 400x, which is linked to computer software to produce digital or photographic images. Other equipment at our facility allows for preparation and examination of cross sections of material, which is useful when identifying problems such as inclusions or seams in the material.
We achieve mechanical results through using the latest in-house testing equipment and computer software, which provide improved levels of efficiency and guarantee high levels of accuracy for our testing methods.
Our capabilities and equipment mean that thanks to our in-house testing equipment, we can provide you with the following mechanical tests:
Alongside all of the above, if requested by the customer, we are able to offer third party external testing to both UKAS and ISO 17025 certified approvals.
